Mojito Rising

Mojito Rising

Do you like The Doors? I do, and their song LA Woman is one of my faves. My son Austin got me back into this great band and I figure Jim Morrison drank mojitos, although don’t quote me.

Although not considered a “masculine” drink, mojitos make me happy when I have some white rum laying around and with our mint that we grow here on the farm, there is always a good excuse to muddle.

Mojitos will make you happy too.

The Perfect Mojito

In a Collins glass, add the mint sprigs and sugar. Muddle the mint by pressing it lightly with a muddler to release the oils.

Drop in two lime pieces and muddle to release juice.

Add white rum (about 2 oz but hey who is counting?), stir and add ice.

Top with soda water.

Garnish with a mint sprig and a lime wheel.
