Pastured Poultry
Free Range, non-GMO Broiler/Fryer Chickens
Our meat chicken season runs from approximately May through October and make sure you read up on all of the other pastured poultry posts. Don’t forget the videos we did wrapping up 2024. Our day one and then day two videos are pretty fun. You might find something you like.
In 2025, we are going to work with a processor at 3 scheduled dates (below) to be able to process more poultry (both chickens and turkeys) if necessary as well as being able to offer hearts, livers, necks, feet and more!
The dates for chicken harvest are:
- June 5th
- June 26th
- July 31st
The chickens will be ready for pick up at our farm one day following the above harvest dates and are capped at 45 chickens per family.
Chickens are $8 a pound and the final weight will be determined on harvest day and certified by a licensed USDA poultry processing team.
Note: if you pick up on the day of, the poultry will NOT be frozen.
You are welcome to place an order at any time but we always sell out of chickens and we can only produce a limited number. We are doing our best to not further raise our prices, but if costs continue to increase we may have to revise our pricing in 2026. As always, we suggest asking what exactly you are eating when you consume cheap CAFO-raised grocery store chicken. The cost-savings are coming from someone and the two most likely sources are labor exploitation (which can result in less attention to safety) and the value you receive from your purchase. We believe in growing and buying as local and fresh as possible.

Free Range, non-GMO Big Breasted Bronze Turkeys
In 2025, our turkey season will be focused solely on raising turkey for your Thanksgiving, Christmas and holiday season. You will notice below that much of our turkey program will sound very similar to our pastured chicken program description above.
You can order by email or by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.
Turkeys are $9 a pound and you will be able to pick them up at the farm within 48 hours of that day.
Turkey Processing day is November 13th.
Note: if you pick up on the day of, the poultry will NOT be frozen.

Pasture Raised Poultry is Best
We free-range our turkeys and chickens on pasture. All of our poultry are free-ranged during the day. At night they sleep safe from predators inside mobile Alumi-Coops. Every morning we open the coops and feed them a non-GMO feed mix outside the coops so that they all come out of the coops to forage and move around. We move the coops often daily, so that they can forage nearby while being able to go back inside to escape hawks, rain showers, or the afternoon sun. Raising the poultry outdoors and moving the coops regularly is the most important part of the system. It ensures the birds have access to fresh forage while also distributing their manure (one of our main sources of fertilizer) across the pasture which is in line with our commitment to regenerative agriculture. Many so-called “free range” corporate poultry operations have fixed coops which do not move, which basically means their poultry only have access to a prison yard devoid of any real forage. However, we have lost some chickens this way to aerial predators like hawks and bald eagles although our Alumi-Coops do a great job of keeping them safe.
Pick up at the Farm – Both Chickens and Turkeys
You can pick up your whole chickens or turkeys fresh (unfrozen) from the farm when we bring them back from our poultry processor. If you want turkey feet, or giblets, these are available for an extra cleaning and processing charge. Just tell us how many you want when you place your order. Please note these may not be the feet, livers, necks, or other giblets from your turkey, but they will be from birds in the same batch.
Picking up fresh chickens and turkeys means you have the option of taking the whole (cleaned and dressed) birds home and breaking them down into smaller pieces before freezing them. If you want to cook a fresh turkey or chicken without freezing it first, you will need to let it rest for 48 hours in the refrigerator before cooking.
If interested, we invite you to fill out this form or you can make your chicken deposit here and turkey deposit here. We can also contact you to collect additional information, answer questions and set up the invoice. Final cost will be determined on butcher day, priced per pound based on “dressed weight” (after feathers, feet, head and organs removed) with your deposit subtracted.
