Homemade Poppy Seed Dressing

Homemade Poppy Seed Dressing

My first cooking experiences came out of the Betty Crocker cookbook. That big red piece of American culinary wisdom. I made waffles (many times), chocolate chip cookies, and even popovers out of there as a kid. They honestly were all great.

As I got older I suppose my tastes have changed a bit and I certainly have expanded my reach with other cookbooks but there is something very simple about the recipes created by this mythological woman and delicious. Here is one we use often.

5-Minute Poppy Seed Dressing

3/4 cup mayo
1/3 cup sugar (honey OK too)
2 T cider vinegar
2 t poppy seeds

Mix it all with a whisk and serve on salad! My favorite is my teriyaki chicken salad.
