The Pantry and DIY Project

The Pantry and DIY Project

As you may have noticed, the work on the blog covers a lot of ground. We started with simple and fun recipes that came out of my time as a single dad, moved to big family and gathering recipes to curing, smoking, and even cocktail prep thanks to the deep dive into bitters making.  All of this, now fueled by our experience on our farm where we now raise animals to eat and sell, our big garden, and our overall commitment to do more with what we have, is leading me to a blog-like project that I think is important; how to build a pantry of sorts with items that YOU can do!

We now have enough experience curing meat, making many dairy products (sour cream, yogurt and several cheeses), elixers (bitters, extracts, liqueurs), and so much more that I think we can now officially add to the recipe index with recipes that are part homestead but mostly a challenge to buy less from the store (the system) and give you and your family the confidence to make, build, store up, yourself.

There will be sub categories. Lists like: bread at home, charcuterie at home, coffee and tea at home, and so on. You will be able to find it under the Pantry | DIY heading as well as a full roster in the recipe index.

So stay tuned for a deliberate build-out of a pantry, online and as always lets us know what you think!
